 Sports are an integral part of human life. It has great importance in all spheres of life. It keeps one fit and gives one physical strength. Furthermore, sports help build the character and personality of a person. It is an excellent tool to build self-confidence. It also improves communication skills. Sports reduce the stress on the mind. A sports-playing person would experience less depression. Sports ensure the peace of mind of those playing them. Most noteworthy, it brings happiness and joy to the lives of individuals.

 Today, here we will talk a little bit about soccer. In most parts of the world. Soccer is also called football. It is the world's most popular team sport. Both men and women play this game on national and international levels. It has a long history. Football in today’s world arose in England in the middle of the 19th century. But alternative versions of the game existed much earlier.

     An important feature of football involves a lot of people. And took place over large areas in towns. As a result of violent behavior, there used to be damage to the town and sometimes death to the participants. The game was often played in schools, and two of the predominant schools were Rugby and Eton. In 1848, in Cambridge, they held a meeting to make the rules of the game. But a final solution to all questions of rules was not achieved. Then, in 1863, the first football association came into being in England. Carrying the ball with your hands was not permitted. The standard size and weight of the ball were also decided in that meeting.

  Teams use a spherical ball to play this game. It is one of the most popular sports in the world, played between two teams. Each team has 11 players who use their feet to kick the ball around a rectangular field called the pitch. The team that scores more by moving the ball beyond the goal line wins the match. Usually, the total duration of the game is over two 45-minute halves, for a total match time of 90 minutes. Two assistant referees are also there on the field, each on the touchlines on the opposite pitch.

Equipment and Kit:

The special equipment is necessary for the players to wear. It includes a shirt, shorts, socks, footwear, and adequate shin guards. The goalkeeper must wear clothing that is distinguishable. Players use shoes to play soccer, called cleats.

FIFA (International Federation of Association Football):

The International Federation of Football Associations (FIFA) controls all affairs of football. FIFA became a member of the International Football Association Board of Great Britain in 1913. They introduced red and yellow cards during the 1970 World Cup finals. It has six regional confederations attached to it. Each country has its own national football association. Such as the English Football Association in England, known as the FA, or US Soccer in the USA. FIFA organizes the World Cup every four years, two years after it is open to national teams from around the planet.
